All of that being said, our first post is about the weather and time of year.  If you have your choice of when to visit Hilton head right after Memorial Day would be my choice.  Kids are back in school and the Island is relatively empty, however all the restaurants are still on summer hours, you can get in and out of some places we wouldn’t dare visit in the summer.  Traffic is lighter (although there is a lot of roadwork going on right now, it won’t last too long).   The weather is awesome, high 80s during the day, mid 70s at night.  It is warm enough for the beach, but not so overwhelming that you can’t golf, bike, play tennis or run.  Rates are lower on Vacation Rentals and stores are happy to see you as you might be the last hurrah until next spring.

So- if you want to know the perfect time to visit Hilton Head Island and you don’t have kids in school (or you want to leave them behind)- come in the couple of weeks after Memorial Day*.

*Check the Hurricane Activity- this is right in the middle of hurricane season.
